The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board said it is reviewing the Closed Circuit Television footage of its centres nationwide to discover possible cases of examination misconduct during the 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculations Examination .                   Jamb registrar The board said it would not hesitate to release more names of offenders after reviewing the CCTV footage. Man dies of Hantavirus in China

A man has died in Yunnan province of China after testing positive to Hantavirus. The man died while on his way back to Shandong Province for work on a chartered bus, China’s Global Times reports. Hantavirus immediately became a trend on social media following the report with people panicking that it was another COVID-19 ready to cause a new pandemic. However, unlike coronavirus, hantavirus is not airborne. Humans who contract the hantavirus usually come into contact with rodents that carry the virus. “Rodent infestation in and around the home remains the primary risk for hantavirus exposure. Even healthy individuals are at risk for HPS infection if exposed to the virus,” Centre for Disease Control and Prevention said in its website.

Aston Villa Goal keeper isolates himself after showing symptoms of Covid 19

Former Liverpool goalkeeper, Pepe Reina, who currently plays for Aston Villa in the Premier League, believes he has contracted coronavirus after displaying symptoms of the deadly disease. The 37-year-old Spaniard is currently self-isolating at home like other players but he disclosed that he 'went through the bug' last week. Although he has not been officially diagnosed with the illness. Speaking in a recent interview with radio station Cope, he said:  'Last week it was my turn to go through the bug,' he told radio station Cope. Access bank closes one of its branch due to coronavirus in the bank

Access Bank has closed its branch in Ligali Ayorinde Street of Victoria Island, Lagos State, after one of its visitors tested positive to COVID-19. The bank in a statement on Monday revealed that the individual whose identity was not disclosed, visited the organisation when he was symptom-free. It noted that the patient is being monitored at the Isolation Centre in Yaba, Lagos State, Nigeria. The statement further called on those who may have come in contact with the infected person to self-isolate as the bank begins disinfection of the affected branch. “We have confirmed that an individual who visited our Ligali Ayorinde branch on Monday 16th March 2020, has tested positive for coronavirus,” the bank explained. “He was symptom-free as at the time of the and he is currently being monitored at an Isolation Centre in Yaba.” As at the time of publishing this report, Nigeria has 36 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and has barred international flights in a bid to curb...

EFCC charges former Head of Service, Winnifred Oyo-Ita, to court on #30bn graft

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, on Monday morning arraigned the immediate past Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Winnifred Oyo-Ita, before the Federal High Court Abuja, over allegation of N3bn fraud she perpetrated while in office. Oyo-Ita was sacked in September last year after about N600m was allegedly found in the bank account of her aide. Investigation by the EFCC led to the alleged discovery of N3bn in Oyo-Ita's account. The antigraft agency claims the money were illegally acquired via kickbacks on contracts, illegal estacodes and duty tour allowance she allegedly received from the government. NCDC annouces first death from coronavirus in Nigeria

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control NCDC this morning, announced the first death from Coronavirus in Nigeria. The deceased has been identifed as 67 year old former PPMC boss, Suleiman Achimugu. A family source who confirmed Achimugu's passing to some news platform, accused the NCDC of negligence in the handling of the deceased. The family source was by quoted Sahara Reporters to have said  “NCDC officials came to the house and took his blood specimen. Even though it tested positive, they never got back to us until he died at a hospital in Gwagwalada. We are all currently under quarantine in the house.” Well, the NCDC has reacted to the claim. In a tweet posted on its official handle, the agency said it is not responsible for the management of individual cases as this is the responsibility of states and treatment centers.
